Monday Madness at Absolutely Amazing Parties – Wigs, Crowns, and Busy Weekends Ahead!
My goodness, Mondays are always our busiest day! Between handling enquiries, checking in on the weekend’s parties, and prepping for the weekend ahead, it’s a whirlwind from the moment we start.
Today we’ve got a mountain of wigs to get through – mainly for Rumi, who’s our most popular character at the moment. But we’re still upgrading our other classic princesses too. Excitingly, our Sleepy Princess has just received her brand-new crown and necklace set all the way from America – perfect for making little birthdays extra special!
We’re also gearing up for a very busy Saturday. With no parties booked for Mother’s Day, I’m taking a little family time and heading to Lincoln for a meal at Ask, followed by a wander around the city. My daughter Isobel is getting the train over from Sheffield, where she’s currently studying – looking forward to catching up with her.
Friday’s looking full-on too. I’ve got a couple of bookings including entertaining at The Oaklands in Worksop with my vintage show, then heading over to Vinegar House. And Zoey, our K-Pop Demon Hunters character, will be at Pirates Play Centre in Sherwood – this is a ticket-only event, so if you fancy it, make sure to head over to their website to grab tickets.
Saturday is going to be packed! We’ve got a mix of parties with Moana, Ariel, Spider-Man, and Rumi out entertaining, plus Darren and I will be running two UV Glow parties. It’s going to be a busy, fun-filled weekend, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
Mondays might be hectic, but it’s all part of what makes Absolutely Amazing Parties such a joy – helping families have brilliant birthdays and seeing all those little faces light up.

Why Our 2 Hour Party Package Is the Best Choice (and Why 90 Minutes Isn’t for Everyone)
Choosing the right party length makes a huge difference to how smooth, fun and organised the party feels. While we do offer different time options, there’s one package that really stands out — especially for children aged 4 and over.
Here’s an honest breakdown of how our party lengths work and why the 2 hour party is the one we recommend most.
Our 2 Hour Party Package (Strongly Recommended – Ages 4+)
This is our best-value and most complete party experience, and it’s the option we genuinely love delivering.
A 2 hour party gives us the time to run everything properly — with structure, flow and breathing space — without rushing children from one activity to the next.
Why the 2 hour party works so well:
- Time for games, interaction and full group involvement
- A relaxed pace that suits ages 4 and up
- Perfect for larger guest lists
- No packing away in front of the children
- Music continues throughout the party
- Includes a free Pass the Parcel (only available with this package)
Because there’s built-in time, everything feels smoother and more organised — and the party finishes on a high, not abruptly. We always recommend that if your child is 4,5 or 6 it is the perfect age for a 2 hour party. At this age they understand instrctions well, are able to cope with a longer party yet still have the capacity to fully believe in characters.
If you want the most polished experience for both children and parents, this is the package we recommend every time.
Our 90 Minute Party Package (Ages 6+ Only)
We want to be very upfront about this one.
Our 90 minute parties run straight through with no break. That means:
- Children will see the entertainer packing away at the end
- Music stops once the entertainer leaves
- The room can look messy during pack-down
- There is no free Pass the Parcel included
For younger children, this can take away from the overall experience. That’s why 90 minute parties are only available for ages 6 and upwards, where children are more aware and less affected by the party ending abruptly. More importantly 90 minutes with no break is hard going for both the children and the entertainer which is why it is not suitable for under 6’s.
It’s also worth mentioning that our entertainers don’t particularly enjoy delivering 90 minute parties — they simply don’t allow the same quality, flow or finish as our 2 hour parties.
This option works best only where time or venue restrictions leave no alternative.
Our 1 Hour Party Package (Maximum party length for 3 Year Olds)
For 3 year olds, a 1 hour party is the maximum length we offer.
At this age, shorter is better. Children can become tired or overwhelmed quickly, and a one-hour party keeps things lively, manageable and positive.
Why 1 hour works for age 3:
- Suits short attention spans
- Keeps energy high without overload
- Ideal for smaller groups
Longer parties are not suitable for this age group, which is why we don’t offer extended options for 3 year olds.
Is this party suitable for all ages? Yes it is, we can adapt and you may well have budget restrictions or have other things planned within your party time.
So, Which Party Should You Book?
Our honest guidance:
- Age 3: 1 hour onlyAges 4 upwards : 2 hours recommended
- Ages 6+: 2 hours (90 minutes only if necessary)
- Large guest lists: 2 hours
- Best overall experience: 2 hours
If you want a party that feels complete, organised and properly finished — the 2 hour party is the clear winner.

Barbie Meets Rosie the Tuk Tuk at Belvoir Castle
This summer our Barbie had a very special photo shoot at the beautiful Belvoir Castle – and she wasn’t on her own. She was joined by Rosie the Little Pink Tuk Tuk, part of the incredible Rosie May Foundation.
Rosie is bright pink, three-wheeled and guaranteed to turn heads wherever she goes. She’s available for hire across the UK for weddings, birthday parties, school events, business promotions and more. She can even be set up as a quirky photo booth to capture those special moments. At Belvoir Castle she proved to be the perfect partner for our Barbie – the photos say it all!
Who are the Rosie May Foundation?
The Rosie May Foundation was set up in memory of Rosie May Storrs, who tragically lost her life at the age of 10 in 2003. Her family created the charity to continue her legacy and change the lives of children both here in the UK and overseas.
The Foundation works on a variety of projects including:
- Rosie the Tuk Tuk fleet – providing safe transport for women and girls in Sri Lanka and Nepal while tackling gender inequality.
- Community projects in the UK – such as Rosie the Little Pink Tuk Tuk, which helps raise awareness and funds through appearances at events.
- Sustainable support – empowering families with skills, education and resources to break the cycle of poverty.
You can read more about their work here: Rosie May Foundation.
Why Rosie Stands Out
Rosie isn’t just fun to look at – she carries a powerful message about making the world a safer and fairer place for women and children. Every time Rosie is hired for a party, wedding or event, she helps raise awareness and supports the Foundation’s work at home and abroad.
We were proud to have our Barbie join Rosie at Belvoir Castle, combining a little fun with a meaningful cause.
How You Can Get Involved
