Princess Parties Are Still Going Strong (Even Though Every Other Booking Seems To Be K-Pop Right Now)
If you looked at our diary recently, you’d probably think children’s parties in 2026 were entirely made up of K-pop playlists, dance battles and groups of 9-year-olds teaching each other choreography from TikTok.
And honestly… you wouldn’t be far off
K-pop parties have absolutely exploded for us lately. We’re seeing more requests for dance routines, neon setups, microphones, glow sticks and popstar-style party games than ever before. The energy at those parties is brilliant and the children know EVERY lyric. Every single one.
But despite all of that, princess parties still haven’t gone anywhere.
In fact, they’re still one of the most consistently booked themes we do across Nottingham and the East Midlands.
There’s something funny about it really. Trends come and go constantly in children’s entertainment. One year it’s superheroes, then dinosaurs, then Wednesday Addams, then Barbie, then Stitch suddenly appears everywhere for six months. But princesses seem to quietly survive every trend change without ever really disappearing.
And the thing is — princess parties have changed a lot over the years too.
They’re not the old-fashioned “sit quietly and listen to stories” style parties people sometimes imagine. Most of ours are loud, chaotic, packed with dancing, games, confetti, music and children trying to talk to the princess all at once.
The children also treat the characters very differently now.
Years ago, children often sat staring in complete silence like they’d met actual royalty.
Now? They interrogate them immediately 😂
“How old are you?”
“Where’s Pascal?”
“Are those real flowers in your hair?”
“Can you drive?”
“Do princesses watch YouTube?”
There’s always at least one child trying to expose the entire plot holes of Disney films halfway through pass the parcel.
And honestly, that’s part of why we still love doing them.
Princess parties work because they give children permission to properly play. Not in a polished, perfect Instagram way — in the real way. Dressing up too much. Spinning around until someone falls over. Singing loudly. Getting completely overexcited when a character walks in.
Even children who arrive shy usually end up joining in once the games start.
Parents love them too because they’re familiar. Everyone understands the idea of a princess party straight away. It works for village halls, community centres, house parties and bigger venues, and there’s loads of flexibility depending on the child’s age and personality.
Some children want the full glitter-and-ballgowns experience.
Others want a princess who can run dance competitions and lead musical statues like a PE teacher on espresso.
Luckily, after 13 years established, we’ve learnt how to adapt to both
So yes — K-pop parties are definitely having a huge moment right now.
But princess parties? Still standing. Still busy. Still causing complete chaos near the bubble machine every single weekend .
