Over the Easter holidays, one of our entertainers, Liam Edwards, was busy at Great Central Railway as their very own mascot, Onslaught the Cat at their Easter Animals Event! Liam, along with a number of our other entertainers, has previously worked at the railway as a variety of characters at their Seasonal family events, including superheroes, villains, and everything in between! This time, it was GCR’s own mascot that was making an appearance for guests. Liam was excited to return to work with the railway to help to ensure the standard of interaction with the guests and have plenty of fun whilst there too! We asked him to let us know a little more about the experience.
Why do I enjoy doing Children’s parties? By Laura-Jayne
“Find a job you love, and you’ll never have to work a day.” One of my favourite quotes, and I guess a rather bold statement! No job is without its difficulties and stress from time to time, but I’m extremely fortunate to be a part of a company that allows me to work and find so much reward in doing so. For around 4 and a half years now, I have sung, danced and dressed up in some crazy costumes for countless children’s birthday celebrations. In my time doing so, I’ve learnt so many lessons about entertaining, and generally working in such a fast paced, unpredictable industry. I’m currently training in Musical Theatre, with the aim of attending Drama School in the near future, so I couldn’t really wish for a better way to build these skills around everything else I’m currently involved in.

Bringing Characters to life: ‘Descendants’
Possibly one of my favourite aspects of this job is the creativity that fuels it – with each character or theme comes new games, activities, and new costumes/wigs/make-up to explore! So, when new films and television shows are released with the potential to inspire new party themes, I love getting to be a part of the process of putting it all together. (more…)

We hear from Absolutely Amazing Parties entertainer Laura about the reasons a party entertainer is a great idea.
“Early experiences for children are some of the most special memories you can create to look back on. As a young adult myself, there are so many times I sit with friends to reminisce, laugh and sometimes cringe at some of my fondest childhood stories. Now, as a performer and entertainer, I get to watch these moments come to life from a different perspective and feel a responsibility to make sure I am doing justice to what I know my princess crazy, 5-year-old self would have dreamed about.
We had the pleasure of going the Brain Injury team at Knights 1759 Solicitors on March 15th at the Kidz Middle Exhibition in Coventry. To see how we can support your next event with our professional Princess and Superhero impersonators please get in touch.
